Currently serving as the Director of the Vascular Surgery Center and Head of the Second Ward of the Vascular Center. A leading academic figure in a national key clinical specialty and the discipline leader of the first batch of peripheral vascular disease interventional diagnosis and treatment training bases under the National Health Commission. Guest Professor at Stanford University, Yale University, New York University, St. Clare Hospital in the USA, as well as the University of Hong Kong and the National University of Singapore School of Medicine. Former Vice President of the International Union of Angiology, President-Elect of the Chinese Chapter of the International Union of Phlebology, Member of the TransAtlantic Inter-Society Consensus (TASC) Standards Committee, International Member of the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), Member of the National Cardiovascular Disease Expert Committee, and Chairman of the Vascular Surgery Committee of the National Cardiovascular Disease Expert Committee. Also serves as a member of the Surgery Branch and Vascular Surgery Group of the Chinese Medical Association, and holds vice-chairman positions in six national societies, including the Endovascular Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association, the Vascular Surgery Branch of the China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care, and the Vascular Surgery Committee of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.
Specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of aortic and peripheral arterial diseases, having performed over 2,000 minimally invasive interventional surgeries for aortic diseases. Pioneered a series of advanced techniques in China and was the first Chinese expert to internationally report the "chimney" technique for minimally invasive treatment of aortic arch dissection.
Has led multiple national and provincial-level research funds and published over 100 papers in domestic and international journals, including more than 30 SCI-indexed articles.
Awarded the "Chinese Physician Award" in 2007, recognized as a "National Advanced Individual in the Health System" in 2008, and honored as an "Outstanding Professor" by the China Medical Board (CMB) in 2011. In 2012, was named among the first "Xiangya Distinguished Physicians" at Central South University and included in the inaugural list of China's Top 100 Physicians.
Invited to perform over 50 minimally invasive interventional surgeries for aortic diseases across nine countries on three continents. As the only Chinese vascular surgery expert, was invited to demonstrate live aortic endovascular surgeries at the CICE conference in South America in 2015 and 2016, and at the C3 conference in the USA in 2016. Has trained vascular surgery specialists from Indonesia, Argentina, Brazil, the Philippines, and Greece, with a total of 50 advanced trainees from these countries coming to China for specialized training.
Invited to deliver over 50 academic presentations on aortic disease diagnosis and treatment in more than 30 countries and regions. Has been invited to attend the American College of Surgeons Annual Meeting for four consecutive years and the Veith Symposium for five consecutive years as a Faculty Member, delivering keynote speeches. As Co-Chair of the conference, led the Chinese vascular surgery delegation to inaugurate a China-West dialogue session at the Cardiovascular Summit of the Royal College of Physicians in the UK. As the only Chinese expert, presented China's experience in endovascular treatment of aortic diseases at the opening plenary session of the 24th European Society for Vascular Surgery Annual Meeting. Represented China in the formulation of the TASC international guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of peripheral vascular diseases.
